My son Griffin turned 7 this week and asked that I surprise him for his birthday party this year. I wanted to create a shared adventure for him and his besties, for us to do something new, and entirely Mendocino. We met-up at the canoe rental place on Big River. It was such a stellar Fall day on the riverside. We adventured up the river, surrounded by redwoods, lots of splashing, and river seals. Afterwards we moved onto the beach for a weenie roast, topped off with s’mores. It was a day to remember.
