I am a traveler fortunate enough to have made the whole world my workplace. I am an artist lucky enough to make a living from my art. I am a mother blessed with three amazing children that are growing as strong, and as beautiful as California wild flowers. I am a woman sharing this amazing life with my best friend, my husband.
It was a wild adventure that finally led me to wedding photography. After studying fine-art photography at San Francisco State University, I began my professional life in San Francisco working as a fine-art and commercial photographer. I assisted and was the custom darkroom printer for some of the biggest names in American photography. Images that I printed hang in museums and galleries around the world. This is how I developed my ability to create technically perfect images through both exposure and composition. Next I embarked on a career in graphic design. After working in presentation design with fortune 100 companies I found my way into Hollywood designing movie posters for top movie studios. Working in graphics required that I become a master with manipulating photographs on the computer. Retouching, airbrushing, stylizing, you name it- I can do it. From there I adventured on to high end advertising on Madison Avenue in Manhattan working with elite clients such as Jaguar, 7up, US Army, Burger King. After a couple of years working 70 hours a week, my first daughter was conceived. I knew I wanted to be a very involved parent and that advertising, although creatively fulfilling, wasn’t where my talents were best utilized. And so CYoung Photography was born.
My education and professional experience as a fine art photographer in the San Francisco art world, a graphic designer in the Hollywood movie industry, and an advertising art director in the mecca Manhattan, provides me the tools to creatively develop your digital images into gallery quality, fine art pieces.
